Safety Matters

“The single greatest priority for us all is health and safety… Eliminating workplace injury is an enormous challenge that we are determined to overcome, not only on construction sites, but everywhere.”
- David Crawford, Chairman, Lend Lease Corporation

LEND LEASE IS COMMITTED TO OPERATING INCIDENT & INJURY FREE WHEREVER WE HAVE A PRESENCE

Our Incident & Injury Free vision touches every aspect of the Lend Lease business, from the buildings we design and construct to the way our assets are managed. We work closely with partners, clients and contractors to create safe places to work, live and visit.

Our Lend Lease Health & Safety Manager offers a complimentary IIF training session in various formats to suit you or your staff. To arrange a session please contact 1300 246 4272.

For safety’s sake:

  • A well stocked First Aid Kit and defibrillator machine are kept at the Sales & Information Office at 31 Pembroke Parade, tel 4630-0300.  Most Lend Lease Staff have First Aid training.
  • It is the responsibility of the licensed builder to ensure that all staff on site wear appropriate safety gear including harnesses, clothing, sight and hearing protection.
  • For the security of staff, materials and passers-by, Council requires that a secure construction fence be in place by the time construction of a home commences.
  • During summer, snakes are sometimes active in residential areas.  Take care when working with piles of dormant building materials in case they have become a shelter.  Snakes are a protected species and, for the safety of all, should not be approached.  For assistance with snake removal, contact the Picton Fire Service on 4677-1971 or Wollondilly WIRES on 4684-3136.
  • Police enforce the 50kmph speed limit throughout the community.
  • Dial Before You Dig. Underground services at Bingara Gorge include electricity, gas, potable water, recycled water, sewer and reticulated water for irrigation of garden beds.  For the safety of workers and prevention of costly damage, Dial Before You Dig on 1100 or check their site on www.1100.com.au.
